Abstract

Geodiversity is a growing topic in the scientific world, involving issues in the fields of theory, methodology and management, among others. One of the tools developed is ecosystem services, i.e. benefits that the environment can provide to the community, as well as playing an important role in the geoconservation scenario. The aim of this work is to analyze and present a comparison of the various abiotic ecosystem services present on the plateaus of Portalegre and Martins in relation to those present in the immediate vicinity of the plateau, which is located under a massif, consequently highlighting the importance of this area. In view of this, it will trigger changes in perspectives regarding the care of the site, corroborating strategies aimed increasingly at protecting this plateau, providing conditions for the municipalities to take advantage of these services provided.
